New Zealand String Quartet
Helene Pohl & Douglas Beilman (violins), Gillian Ansell (viola), Rolf
Gjelsten (cello)
Acclaimed for its powerful communication, dramatic energy, and beauty of sound,
the New Zealand String Quartet performs more than 60 concerts each year in New
Zealand and abroad. In 2005 the quartet will tour North America and Europe,
including a return performance at Europe’s finest chamber music establishment,
the Wigmore Hall. They will also represent New Zealand at Aichi EXPO, a
world-wide event in Japan. Luckily, they really enjoy performing for the
Rotorua audience and we were able to find a place in their busy schedule for a
return visit this year.

lost sight of the superb opportunities for expression"
